Living in the US we never worried about water consumption as the faucets always flowed. In PNG we depend on rain and if it doesn’t rain then the faucets don’t flow. We have two sources of water available to us, one is collected rainwater from our roof, and the other is gravity fed water from the river next to our center. We're grateful for the abundance of rain we receive in PNG, and have more of an appreciation for the purity of the water from the tap in the US.
